Nottingham Plumbers is a directory, not a regulator or guarantee scheme. Checks reduce information risk but cannot guarantee future conduct, workmanship or financial stability.
Badge meanings
- Profile reviewed: required profile fields were administratively checked for completeness and obvious inconsistencies. It does not mean identity, qualifications, insurance or workmanship were verified.
- Identity/business checked: specified identity/trading evidence was reviewed on the stated date.
- Insurance checked: an insurance document or insurer confirmation naming the business, relevant cover and expiry date was reviewed. Cover may contain limits/exclusions and can be cancelled later.
- Qualification/registration checked: the named credential was checked with the issuing body or official register on the stated date. It applies only to the named person/scope.
- DBS checked: use only if a legally relevant DBS certificate/status was checked with appropriate handling and the displayed wording accurately states its level/date. Never imply a DBS check proves safety.
- Verified customer review: evidence linked the reviewer to an enquiry or transaction under the Reviews Policy. Email verification alone is labelled separately.
Each badge should open a plain-language explanation showing scope, source/date and expiry/recheck date where relevant.
Process
We may check public registers, business contact ownership, insurance/credential documents, representative authority, address/service area, complaints and profile consistency. We record the result, source, reviewer and date; restrict document access; and recheck time-sensitive evidence before expiry. Businesses must report changes immediately.
Listing and ranking
Being listed or highly ranked is not a guarantee or recommendation. Ranking may consider query relevance, service area, availability supplied by the business, profile completeness, evidence freshness, qualifying review data and performance/quality signals. Paid placement is labelled “Sponsored” and is not disguised as an independent ranking.
We may correct, qualify, pause or remove claims/badges while evidence is missing, expired or disputed. Customers must make final checks and verify Gas Safe registration for gas work on the official register.
