Nottingham Plumbers operates NottinghamPlumbers.uk, a local directory and enquiry-introduction service. Nottingham Plumbers is the trading name used for this development-stage service. Full operator identification and address will be published before the public launch. Contact: info@nottinghamplumbers.uk.
Information we collect
We may collect: enquiry details (name, contact details, postcode/area, issue, urgency and message); review details (name/display name, email, area, rating, text and verification/moderation records); business and representative details (contact details, address/service areas, opening hours, services, images and submitted evidence); portal account and change-request data; correspondence and complaints; acceptance records; and technical/security information such as IP address, browser/user-agent, timestamps, logs and anti-spam signals.
Do not send unnecessary health, financial, identity-document or other sensitive information through ordinary forms.
Why we use it and lawful bases
We use data to provide requested directory/enquiry/account services and take steps before contracts; operate, secure and improve the directory; check and moderate profiles/reviews; handle complaints; keep records and defend claims; comply with law; and, only where permitted, send marketing. Our bases are contract/steps requested by you, legitimate interests, legal obligation and consent where required. We assess legitimate interests against people’s rights.
Enquiry sharing
At the point of collection we tell you which business, or clearly described limited group of suitable businesses, may receive your enquiry. We share only information reasonably needed to respond. Submission does not authorise unrelated marketing. A recipient business normally becomes an independent controller of the data it receives and should provide its own privacy information.
Public information
Approved profile and review information may be public. We do not publish reviewer email addresses, customer contact details or exact private residential addresses. Approximate map locations may be shown. Businesses must provide only information and media they are authorised to publish.
Recipients and providers
Data may be shared with selected plumbers; hosting, email, security, backup and support providers; map/place-information providers where used; professional advisers; authorities where required; and a successor to the service. Providers must be appropriately selected and protected. We do not sell personal data.
International transfers
Where a provider processes data outside the UK, we use an applicable adequacy decision or approved contractual safeguard and supplementary measures where required.
Retention
Enquiries: normally up to 12 months after closure, unless a dispute/legal duty requires longer. Unsuccessful applications: normally 6 months. Active profiles/accounts: for the listing relationship and a reasonable administration/claims period. Evidence: reviewed at expiry and retained only as necessary; prefer a verification record over indefinite copies. Reviews/moderation: while published plus a proportionate audit/claims period. Complaints and legal records: normally up to 6 years where needed. Security logs: according to a documented, proportionate schedule. These periods must match actual deletion routines.
Security
We use access controls, encrypted connections, WordPress password hashing, one-time reset links, form tokens, anti-spam controls, backups and administrative moderation. No internet service is completely secure. Account holders must protect credentials and report compromise.
Cookies and similar technologies
Necessary cookies support security, sessions and preferences. Non-essential analytics/advertising technologies will not be used before any consent required by UK law. See the Cookie Notice and cookie controls.
Your rights
Subject to legal conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or object to processing. You may withdraw consent at any time. You have an absolute right to object to direct marketing. Email info@nottinghamplumbers.uk; we may verify identity. You may complain to the ICO at https://ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint/.
We do not currently use solely automated decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects. We may update this notice when the service or law changes.
